Clare Hampson Scholarship Fund: the Book & Paper Group maintains this fund, which aims to increase opportunities in education and training for book and paper conservators and supports self-directed learning for individuals at any stage in their careers. (more details)
ICON Assisted Membership Grant: this sponsored membership scheme is also run by the group to support book and paper conservators abroad who have limited contact with the wider conservation community or access to the developments in international conservation. (more details)
Directory of Grant Making Trusts: a large number of trusts offer grants which might be available for training in conservation. They can all be found in the Directory of Grant Making Trusts produced by the Directory of Social Change http://www.dsc.org.uk/. This should be available in most libraries. Be aware that raising funds in this way is not straightforward, but well-written applications, a strong case and persistence often pay off. Most charities do want do spend their money.
