CONFERENCE PAPERS

Icon does not hold any stocks of Conference papers. Most post-prints are produced and distributed by the Icon Group responsible for organising an event, so please go to the relevant Group page for details of how to obtain these.  

PEER-REVIEWED JOURNALS

Journal of the Institute of Conservation
From 2008 Icon amalgamated its two former journals, The Conservator and The Paper Conservator under the title Journal of the Institute of Conservation.  Eligible members now receive two issues each year, one focussing on paper conservation and the other covering a wider range of conservation topics.

Contributing to the Journal
The Journal of the Institute of Conservation is published by Routledge (Taylor & Francis) and there are two deadline dates for articles to reach the Editor

Call for papers

Conservation disciplines other than Book and Paper: Volume 36 issue 1, Spring 2013

What interesting projects are you working on at the moment?  Are you employing a novel approach to your work that others would find useful?  We are currently looking for articles relating to all disciplines except book and paper conservation for submission to the Journal of the Institute of Conservation.  The deadline for submitting completed articles is 28 February 2012

Wanted! Editorial Panel Members for Journal of the Institute of Conservation The Journal of the Institute of Conservation is seeking to recruit 2 new Editorial Panel Members with expertise and contacts in the areas of inorganic materials (ceramics / glass / stained glass / metals) or photographic materials conservation. The role involves sourcing articles for the Journal, assisting with peer review or finding referees, promoting the journal widely amongst conservation and other disciplines, and attending at least one Editorial Panel meeting in London per year. Panel Members need to be experts in their field and have extensive contacts from which to source articles and referees.

The deadline for applications is Friday 19 April 2013

Editorial Panel Members make a commitment to serve on the Panel for at least three years. They are expected to attend at least one Editorial Panel meeting per year. There is a minimum of one and a maximum of three meetings held each year, normally in central London. Usual travel expenses will be reimbursed at the lowest possible fare available and in accordance with Icon’s general expenses policies.

Conference proceedings and other publications are available for study purposes from the Chantry Library. Copies of some legacy publications are available for purchase from Archetype Books. Icon does not hold a stock of any publications.

V & A Conservation Journal
The V&A Conservation Journal provides an overview of current work within the Conservation department. It reflects the department's role within the Victoria and Albert Museum and the range of its activities. The Journal is now published online, as well as in printed format (currently available at the Chantry Library)
